Do you work too hard?

Do you care too much?

Many of us burn out because we push too hard, because we try and force our clients to let go. Instead of pushing, what if we use the principle of “pouring” to make contact? Instead of muscling, what if we “melt” into our client?  We will learn again how to use less of our most injured tool-our muscles-and more of our most powerful tools-our body weight and our breath. With lots of hands-on practice, and by incorporating principles of Tai Chi, the Alexander Technique, and mindfulness, participants will become more able to contact the client with subtlety, and more aware of how to alter their own techniques and tweak their body mechanics, in order to work with both greater depth and greater ease.

Preserve your energy and generate power!

David M. Lobenstine, LMT, is a massage therapist, teacher, writer and the owner of Full Breath Massage in Manhattan. He has worked in a wide range of massage environments, from spas to wellness centers, from the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament to the hospice of Beth Israel Hospital. In addition to seeing clients, he is currently a teacher of his own continuing education courses, as well as an assistant teacher of Carole Osborne’s Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy workshops. His work is a combination of deep tissue, myofascial release technique, somatic education, and breathwork. His aim is to help both his clients and fellow massage therapists to figure out how to use their bodies with greater ease and effectiveness.
